Air Fryer Soft Pretzels

Ingredients

1 ½ Cup(s) Water (warm)
2 ¼ Teaspoon(s) Active Dry Yeast (1 packet)
1 Teaspoon(s) Salt
1 Tablespoon(s) Sugar
3 ¾ Cup(s) All-Purpose Flour
1 Egg (whisked)
4 Pinch(es) Coarse Sea Salt or as needed
2 Tablespoon(s) Butter (melted)
1 Teaspoon(s) Cinnamon
¼ Cup(s) Sugar

How to make Air Fryer Soft Pretzels

  In a large Bowl, Whisk together warm water and yeast until the yeast is dissolved.

  Add in the salt and sugar and Whisk again until combined.

  Add flour one Cup at a time and stir with a Wooden Spoon until the dough isn't sticky. If you poke the dough and it bounces back it's ready for the next step.

  On a well floured surface, knead the dough for 3 minutes.

  Cut the dough into 8 equal sized pieces and roll each piece into a rope (about 18 inches long). Make sure the dough rope has an equal width throughout.

  To shape the pretzel, hold an end of the rope in each hand and form a U-shape. Cross the 2 ends over each other twice and then seal the ends at the bottom of the U-shape. Press to seal. Repeat for all 8 pieces.

  Brush all 8 pretzels with the egg wash. Sprinkle 4 of the pretzels with sea salt and leave the other four as is.

  Place pretzels in a well greased Air Fryer basket two at a time. Adding more than 2 will over crowd the basked and they will not cook correctly.

  Air Fry for 6-8 minutes at 330 degrees F or until they are golden brown on top.

  For the 4 pretzels that are unsalted, brush with melted butter. Combine the cinnamon and the ¼ Cup sugar and coat the buttered pretzels.

  Serve salted pretzels with nacho cheese (or your dip of choice) and the sweet pretzels with chocolate sauce (or your dip of choice). Enjoy!
