How to make Homestyle Buttermilk Biscuits
01 Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C) & get ready to whip up some delicious buttermilk biscuits!
02 Whisk together flour, salt, baking soda, cream of tartar & baking powder. Cut lard into the flour mixture using a Pastry Blender (until crumbly), then stir in the buttermilk.
03 Turn the mixture onto a floured surface & knead just a few times to form a moist dough.
04 Roll the dough out to 1 inch thick, then cut the biscuits with a Biscuit Cutter or round glass. Place them on an ungreased Baking Sheet & bake in the preheated oven until the tops are golden – about 12 minutes!
