04 Then stir in the flour, lemon zest, and baking powder until the batter is nice and smooth. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake it in the preheated oven until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean—45 to 55 minutes.
05 While the cake is baking, make the syrup: combine ½ Cup sugar and lemon juice in a Saucepan over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is dissolved—about 5 minutes.
06 Once the cake is finished baking and still warm, poke holes into the top and pour the syrup over. Let it cool slightly before cutting and enjoy!
