How to make Viva's Homemade Snickerdoodles

  Preheat the oven to 400 F (200 C).

  In a large Bowl, place butter, shortening, 1 ½ Cups of sugar, eggs and vanilla, beating until smooth. Add flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt, beating until combined. Scoop dough with a large spoon and roll into even balls.

  Whisk together 2 tbsp of sugar and cinnamon in a small Bowl, rolling each ball of dough in the mixture; place balls 2" apart on Baking Sheets.

  Bake for 8 to 10 mins, or until cookies are set but not too hard. Immediately remove from Baking Sheets and cool on racks.
