How to make Viva's Honey-Glazed Ham
01 Preheat your oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) and add water, star anise, and cloves to the bottom of a Roasting Pan.
02 Place a roasting rack over the anise and cloves and place the ham on top. Make ¼ inch deep slashes ½ inch apart across the top of the ham.
03 Bake the ham for 20 minutes. Then, in a BowlWhisk together brown sugar, honey, mustard, vinegar, black pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and cayenne pepper to make a thick and smooth glaze.
04 Brush the glaze all over the ham and continue baking for about 2 hours 10 minutes, brushing the glaze on every 20 minutes.
05 Use an Instant-Read Thermometer to check that the center of the ham has reached 130 degrees F (54 degrees C).
06 Finally, use a Kitchen Torch to heat the glaze until it is crispy and caramelized, 2 to 5 minutes. For regular ham, bake until the center reads 140 degrees F (60 degrees C). Substitute any vinegar for rice vinegar, if desired!
